Firsteel applies reactivatable adhesives to stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel substrates in a continuous process so that customers achieve unparalleled levels of bonding consistency.

 

Products are suitable for bonding to elastomers, thermoplastics and thermoplastic elastomers (TPE). There is also a range suitable for general bonding based upon hot-melt technology. The product will form excellent bonds with various materials including metals, plastics such as acrylate, latex, polyester and polyurethane, textiles such as acrylic, cotton, jute and silk, as well as cardboard, artificial leather and wood.

 

Firsteel coatings are free of hexavalent chromium and comply with European legislation 2000/53/EC.

 

As the product is non-tacky, material can be transported in coil form, is formable and can be reactivated at a later date using either heat or a combination of heat and pressure. The material to be bonded can be applied as an extrusion process, injection forming, in a platen press or rolling operation.
